The "headlines" from Sherman

People think things are "getting better" in the County.

Economic development is the overwhelming number one priority.

It's been good work on new jobs, loan programs and industrial parks, but we need faster progress on regulatory relief and more participation from the State.

There's a lot going on with the environment and we're learning more about it, but participation by residents, farmers and others is still weak.

Shared service efforts are good - between county and towns and among towns - but government is till too big, communication needs be better, and taxes are still too high.

There are a lot of good things going on to help youth and others, but we need more involvement by schools, to be more proactive, and to get grassroots involvement.

The vision and principles statement is "on target."

We need more "regular people" to participate and better, more specific information from the presenters.
