The Chautauqua County Power Point Presentation

The "headlines" from Westfield

Seventy percent of the participants think things are “getting better” in Chautauqua County.

The overwhelming number one priority was economic development.

The Summits are useful, and it’s good to get a progress report on economic development, but none of these things can happen fast enough.

Some good things are happening on the environment. Environmental education is important. But it’s still too early to evaluate these initiatives.

The overall effort on shared services is good, but making government more effective will mean engaging the grass roots much more.

The programs on “people development” are good and cooperative efforts are heartening, but much more needs to be done, and schools must become more involved.

Participants thought the vision and principles were “on target” – but least enthusiastically than elsewhere.
